The History of Garlavoddu@ Garloddu Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Kalyanotsvams & Brahmotsavams !

Garloddu Temple Founder Trustee Couple Sri Maddigunta NarasimhaRao, Arunakumari.       This brief history   relates to Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Kalyanotsavam &Brahmotsavams  which has been going  at Garlavoddu Temple  since 1964 to till date i.e more than 61 years.This Temple situtes at Garlavoddu village, Enkuru Mandal , Khammam District, Telangana State, India.    The  Kalyanotsavam becomes  part of Brahmotsavam since 2001 . Earlier there was only Kalyanotsavam   which had been Conducting by the Founder Family Members of the Temple since 1964 to Till Dwajastambha pratishta made year i.e 2001.  After Founder Trustee Charge has been taken by Sri Maddigunta Narasimha Rao in year 2000, Dwajastambha Pratishta held under his Founder Trustee Ship in the year 2001  and since that year,  Kalyanotsavams has been conducting as part and parcel of Brahmotsavams. Mounesh Achar, Gadilinga Tamarapanti, Manavu, Nagaraja charyulu at Naga Puja .                                    It was  very pleasure to us when Devotees Sri Gadilinga Tamarapanti and Mounesh Achar came from Bellary of Karnataka State and visited our Temple as well as Ashramam.  Last Monday i.e on 28.8.2016 at about 9.00 A.M both devotees came to our Ashramam. After having bath me along with them went  for Lord Lakshmi Narasimha Darsan. They were felt very much spiritual pleasure in Deity i.e Lord Lakshmi Narasimha  Swamy Presence. About Khammam Stambhadri Gutta Lord Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple.

                                                      StaMbhadri !  This is the  earlier name of present Khammam City. The name  Khammam has been derived from the name of a local hill which has been called Stambhadri, that is  an abode to Lord Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy and also believed to have been in existence since Tretayuga. The name of the the then town  Stambhadri, later  reportedly   became KhaMbhadri, Khambham meTTu ,and finally to present name Khammam. The meaning  of Stambhadri, Khambhadri, Khammam mettu, and Khammam is the one at the same i.e "Pillar". The city is located near the Munneru river which is a  tributary  of the river Krishna. As per Hindu Texts Lord Narasimha appears from a Pillar. So it is believed that Lord Narasimha appears from this Stambhadri and killed the demon Hiranyakashyapu.  The ancient temple which has been exists on Stambadri Gutta is called  as   Stambhadri Gutta Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple and it is dedicated to Lord Lakshmi
